Now that the race is over, the Race Map shows ALL the data collected for each team when you select the team from the list; you may need to clear your browser cache to get the latest Race Map..
You can also download this raw data GPS data (lan/lon/time) via your team page using the link "Download GPS Data." Note that some teams have more data than others, probably due to how the beacon was positioned on your shoulder, etc.

After a bit of clean-up and a couple good meals I'm off to bed -- I may
not wake up until Tuesday or Wednesday, so I wanted to get this posted
quickly. Congratulations to all the teams who battled this course and
the bogs, forests, and alpine areas that this New England landscape
makes available. All the race teams, from the lead of the pack to
those struggling in their very first adventure race, impressed us with
determination, teamwork, and postive attitudes -- this is the sort of
stuff that inspires us to keep building these human challenges.
Credit for the race goes to many parties including the dedicated Untamed Adventure
staff who fought the bugs, tended fires, and ran checkpoints around the
clock. You all are the most reliable people I know and our races
depend on your passion and judgement to succeed. Jill, working in our
remote HQ in Switzerland, kept all the logistics straight and ensured
the course flowed together; it's a shame she couldn't meet the racers
in person, as she only knows the teams by the blinking coloured dots in
the GPS tracking system.
Thanks must also go to our guerrilla
journalist crew, led by Sherry and Susan, who worked so diligently to
capture interviews, photos, and the spirit of the race for everyone to
enjoy online. Our goal was an interactive race experience for those
following the event from the website, and we succeeded. I won't forget
how the winning team, Team Summit Achievement, got phone calls just
minutes after crossing the finish line from family and sponsors
tracking their progress online: "We watched you the whole way" they
said. We will have race DVDs available later this summer, so keep you
eye out for that.
I need to particularly thank my in-laws, the Peloquin family in
Littleton, NH, who have hosted me on several planning trips to the
region. They've been so generous with their house (guest bedroom and
washing machine in particular!), vehicles (thanks for the mini-van!),
and schedule (like the time Lucy picked Eric and I up at the McDonald's
in Lancaster at 4 AM -- or the time at Franconia Notch during the
storm!)
There are so many "thank yous" to go around, and my eyelids are heavy, so I will just suggest you check out our sponsors on the New England race site and our main website and let them know you appreciate their support for our efforts with Untamed New England; typing an email to New Balance, TrackMe360, Eastern Mountain Sports (arranging the party on the Crescent Ridge O-Course was brilliant Jen!), or Long Trail Ale
takes you only a minute and it gives a tangible reminder to these
businesses that their investment in us is worthwhile. The same goes
for environmental partners like the Forest Society
. . . they thought we were crazy when we approached them about this
race, and they were right, but we've won them over and hope to build on
this in the future.
OK, enough from me already. One of my pet peeves is a long-winded race
director! Safe travels everyone and enjoy some recovery time while we
work on the next chapter for Untamed Adventure.
May your maps always be dry!

The last two teams are in and we've officially closed the Untamed New England race course. Official results will be posted later on today with (perhaps) some commentary from our fearless (and sleepless) RD. Thanks to all who followed the race; it's been a fantastic 60+ hours. More teams finished and stayed on the pro course than we thought and the caliber of teams was exceptionally high.Great, great job by all! Ok, Sleep all around!
