Adventure Race will build on our "green racing" leadership in a number of other ways . . .
Paperless Registration
- Event sign-up, waivers, medical forms, and releases will all be completed
electronically using our innovative team portal. This cuts
down on waste and makes life easier for everyone.
Conservation Projects

For the Untamed New England Adventure Race, we've partnered with some established conservation groups
in New England to complete work projects during the race. This means that teams, as part of the
event, could be removing invasive species, building embankments to prevent erosion, etc. The specifics
of the projects are not revealed until the race starts, but we have a couple good projects lined up
to ensure our event gives back to the community that is hosting our race . . . we'll leave the race
course better than we found it, and it makes this race all the more special.
Carbon Neutral

We've partnered with AtmosClear.org to obtain VERs (Verified
Emission Reductions) to offset the greenhouse gas emissions from our event. This includes our flights
and course scouting, as well as participants travel to the race. By using VERs to offset our CO2, we're
being accountable for the full environmental "cost" of our event.
No Support Crews

We minimize our impact to the race area by not allowing support vehicles for teams; some events will have
100 or more support cars following along with the race, moving from transition area to transition area. This
roving automotible rally can be tough on parking areas and road infrastructure, not to mention the cost in
terms of noise, gasoline, and additional people on the course. By committing to having no support crews
for the Untamed New England Adventure Race, the race is more of a challenge for the competitors and the
environment gets a break from all those automobiles!
These are just a few highlights from our green racing agenda. This is one of the most innovative facets
to Untamed Adventure events and will help make the Untamed New England Adventure Race a memorable event
for the region.
