Return to Main Bulletin Board PFD Type   by Grant at 7/21/2010 4:32:38 PM Message: We were asked "I don’t see PFDs on the gear list for paddling, but I assume they are required? Are PFDs being offered (I think they were last year). For the swim, if we have inflatable PFDs (type III) will it be acceptable to swim with these (inflated, of course)?" I have updated the gear list to correct this oversight -- YES, PFDs are mandatory for the paddle and we are providing basic PFDs for those who don't bring their own. For the swim, PFDs are also required and we will permit Type III inflatable provided they are 1) inflated and 2) worn for the duration of the swim.
